Have you been using the products and services tab for your LinkedIn business page? On April 14, 2014, that will be gone. LinkedIn has announced that they are phasing out the Products and Services tab on Company Pages. If you currently have this tab, you may make edits for the next few days, but you can’t add any products and services.
In their statement, LinkedIn said the following:
We’re constantly evaluating how features are being used and exploring new ways to enhance the content experience on LinkedIn. We do this to ensure that we’re creating a platform where companies can deliver timely, engaging content to our members. Sometimes, this means we need to remove a feature to focus on areas of the product that most benefit both companies and our members.
However, LinkedIn has already assured us that there are two excellent alternatives.
You may use your existing company page to share real time updates and content about your business. These updates will appear in your followers’ feeds and your message will spread further with interaction. Company pages allow you to share various content that is in real time, making your content relevant and timely.
Showcase Pages were introduced in 2013 and allow you to highlight a brand or product line. A business can create a feed for a specific product or service. Showcase pages can encourage a following for a specific product or service for your business. For more information on showcase pages, click here.
We are looking forward to seeing brands use these two options. If you have any questions or would like us to assist you through this transition please give us a call at 941-799-9079 or email us.
