Hello everyone. My name is Christina Guerrero and I have been interning here at Brand1111 for about 2 months now. I absolutely love it here; I have learned so much. While in school I had the intention of going into the workforce with a steady work pace but man was I wrong. In school we had turn around times a month out compared to here clients want their work within days of us receiving the project. I was warned by Melissa before starting here that I would be handling multiple projects at once and that did make me a bit nervous. At first I was a little bumpy in getting everything turned in but I believe I have now grown to handling multiple projects quite well.
“Simple is best” is my key in trying to produce quick turn arounds. I would have never guessed that a graphic designer works on 4 or more projects a day; I always imagined you get a project and work on that and finish by the deadline and then on to the next. I have come to really enjoy working on multiple projects though, working on one project and moving on to the next is kind of like giving your mind a break in my opinion. You can be working on one project for hours and when you move on to the next its almost like you walked outside to get some fresh air.
Another thing I appreciate about interning here is learning about Content Management Systems (CMS). I was always told that CMS’ weren’t a good option, but after working with them I have learned they are beneficial to both the designer and the clients. Many jobs ask for knowledge in various CMS platforms and thanks to Brand 1111 I now have that knowledge and hope to continue to learn much more.
I am using my time wisely here, I ask many questions and learn so much from Melissa, Johnathan and Lisa. It feels like I am still in class, learning new things every time I’m here, but I also feel like I am hard at work gaining much needed experience. Brand 1111 is preparing me for the workforce and I can not wait to graduate this December and start my career.
